FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What can I expect with my Forever Young BBL treatment?

Plan on the treatment lasting approximately about 30-45 minutes. You will be cleansed and a phototherapy conductor gel will be applied to your skin. Your eyes will be protected, and during the treatment you will sense a flash of light and feel a quick pulse of gentle heat. Upon the completion of the treatment, your protective eye shields will be removed and your face cleansed from the phototherapy conducting gel. Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be slightly pink, however, that will dissipate within a few minutes. Throughout the next few days (up to a week), you will see darkening of superficial pigment occurring, which can sometimes look and feel like coffee grounds. This is a natural response to the treatment, and we encourage you to allow the natural healing response to occur and not intentionally exfoliate. These treatments should be done every 4 weeks for optimal results.

  • What should I know prior to my first laser hair removal appointment?

Depending on the area being treated, plan on a treatment time ranging between 20 minutes to 45 minutes. Avoid sun exposure, artificial tanning, self-tanners, or pigment enhancers of any type to the area being treated for a minimum of two weeks prior to treatment.  Throughout the course of treatment, refrain from any tweezing, waxing, or using depilatories, as they can result in an uneven treatment. For your first treatment, make sure you are clean-shaven to allow for a better treatment. Prior to treatment, you will have eye shields placed to protect them from the laser, and the area being treated will be covered with a clear gel that will conduct the laser to directly target the hair follicle. Throughout the treatment, you will feel a chill from the sapphire window followed by a quick sensation of heat, and then a chill from the sapphire window. This allows for a comfortable treatment and experience. When the procedure has been completed, any residual gel will be removed along with your eye shields. You may notice red bumps at various places to the area treated.  This is a common occurrence caused by swelling surrounding the area where a hair follicle would have been, and will subside quickly. While common, this response does not affect all patients, so do not be alarmed if you do not experience this. Treatments are scheduled every 6-8 weeks for optimal results.

  • What can I expect with my Pro-Fractional treatment?

Prior to beginning the treatment, a light layer of numbing cream will be applied to the area. After a few minutes, the numbing will be washed off, a light application of alcohol will be applied, and protective eye shields will be placed for protection.  Throughout the course of treatment, you will experience a light sense of heat. Depending on the area/s being treated, the procedure can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. At the completion of the treatment, a light layer of healing ointment will be applied and eye shields will be removed. Depending on the area and how aggressive the procedure was, you may experience some pin-point bleeding that will quickly clear up.  For the following few days post-procedure you will experience some light scabbing and mild redness. This is a normal response to skin remodeling. This typically dissipates within a few days to a week. You will be sent home with an at-home skin care kit to further enhance your results.

  • What can I expect with a HALO?

Prior to arriving to your procedure, you will have been given a topical numbing cream that should be applied and hour before treatment. At the time of treatment, your skin will be cleansed, a light application of alcohol will be applied, and protective eye wear will be placed. Depending on the area, treatments take approximately an hour. Measurements of the area will be taken to allow for a precise and customized treatment for your specific needs. During the treatment, you will feel warmth that will slowly increase in intensity throughout the course of treatment and feel like a sunburn. This sensation will subside within a few hours. You will have redness and inflammation for the first few hours post treatment followed by a bronzing color depending on your skin tonality. For the first few days post-treatment you will feel and see spots of dark tissue that will resemble coffee grounds and your skin texture will be rough. This is completely normal, and you should refrain form encouraging those areas to slough off, as this is part of the skin remodeling process. Patients typically require 1-2 procedures for optimal results.

  • What do I need to know about a Hydrafacial?

This relaxing treatment cleanses, exfoliates, and extracts impurities while infusing your skin with vitamins and serums to help treat, correct, and prevent skin concerns. Upon arrival, your skin will be double-cleansed to allow for better treatment and outcome. Upon completion of the treatment, you will receive a manual facial massage to encourage the relaxation of muscles and increase blood flow to the tissues, leaving you with a healthy glow. This treatment will last approximately 45 minutes and is recommended monthly.

  • What can I expect from my chemical exfoliation?

This treatment takes approximately 15 minutes to apply. A medical grade combination of various acids is applied to the area being treated and left on for approximately 30 minutes. Slowly over the course of a day, your skin will begin to feel tight with peeling occurring around day 2, which can last 2-3 days. You will be sent home with strict guidelines and instructions for care of your skin for the following days after treatment. The peeling should occur naturally and not be encouraged, as this is a normal response. Social downtime is approximately 2-3 days.

  • What can I expect with Dermaplaning?

This is a quick 15-minute process during which the skin is cleansed and exfoliated, leaving your skin feeling smooth and soft. This treatment is commonly combined with chemical exfoliation, Hydrafacial, and Forever Young BBL.
