What is BBL?

BBL, or broadband light, is meant to improve the appearance of damaged or aging skin by stimulating collagen production and resurfacing healthy skin cells. This procedure can treat a variety of skin conditions, including hyperpigmentation, vascular lesions, uneven skin tone and texture, sun spots, and sun damage. The use of broadband light can also control active acne by shrinking overactive sweat glands and killing acne-causing bacteria. Because Forever Young BBL Treatment is non-invasive, there is minimal discomfort and little to no downtime, making this a great treatment for those on the go.

Once we have evaluated your skin issues, we will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Forever Young BBL treatments are not effective for treating deep acne scars, which respond better to other skin treatment techniques.

How are BBL Treatments Performed?

BBL treatments work by gently heating the skin’s surface, stimulating the production of collagen in the body. A specialized handpiece delivers light energy, warming the skin. This energy penetrates the skin’s surface to treat the lower layers of tissue. Melanin and brown spots absorb this light which damages pigmented cells and promotes collagen improvement.

Most treatments are quick, only taking 15-30 minutes to complete. However, treatment time depends on the number and size of treatment areas. This treatment can be safely combined with Sciton lasers, such as MOXI, Halo, and Profractional lasers for comprehensive, synergistic results.

BBL Results

There is little to no downtime associated with BBL treatments, so you can return to your everyday tasks as soon as you feel comfortable. You may experience mild redness and swelling following treatment, though this should resolve in a couple of days. In the days after BBL treatments, pigmentation may darken before flaking away from the treated skin. To maintain results, patients are advised to undergo treatment sessions regularly, a few months apart. How many laser skin treatments you might need will depend on the level of skin damage you have and the results you hope to achieve.
