What is BBL?

BBL, or broadband light, is meant to improve the appearance of the skin by stimulating the production of collagen. This procedure can treat a variety of skin irregularities, including hyperpigmentation, vascular lesions, uneven skin tone and texture, and sun damage. Because BBL is non-invasive, there is little to no downtime involved, making this a great treatment for those on the go.

Once we have evaluated your skin issues, we will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure.

How are BBL Treatments Performed?

BBL treatments work by gently heating the skin’s surface, stimulating the production of collagen in the body. A specialized handpiece delivers light energy, warming the skin. This energy penetrates the skin’s surface to treat the lower layers of tissue. Melanin and brown spots absorb this light, which damages pigmented cells and promotes collagen improvement. Most treatments are quick, only taking 15-30 minutes to complete. However, treatment time depends on the number and size of treatment areas.

BBL Results

There is little to no downtime associated with BBL treatments, so you can return to your everyday tasks as soon as you feel comfortable. You may experience mild redness following treatment, though this should resolve quickly. In the days after BBL treatments, pigmentation may darken before flaking away from the skin. To maintain results, patients are advised to undergo treatment sessions regularly, at a few months apart.
