How is Dermaplaning Performed?
Dermaplaning uses a small blade to exfoliate dead skin cells and the thin, vellus hair or “peach fuzz” from the face. The dermaplaning process is essentially the same as shaving, but needs to be performed carefully and precisely to achieve the correct results. Your aesthetician will use a sterilized razor at a 45-degree angle across the skin, effectively removing dead cells and scar tissue. This gentle procedure is not painful and takes about twenty to thirty minutes to complete.
Dermaplaning Results
Dermaplaning removes the impurities and dead skin cells that can make your skin appear dull and uneven. The results of dermaplaning treatment are a brighter, younger looking appearance. Some may experience redness after the treatment as well as small signs of irritation, which should subside within a day or two after the treatment.
In addition to a brighter appearance, many clients feel that skin care products absorb better after dermaplaning, and that their makeup applies more smoothly and evenly as a result of the treatment.
